Beyond the rails, Deutsche Bahn is also committed to eco-friendly mobility with a steadily growing fleet of electric cars and buses. To support this, the company is further expanding its charging infrastructure. This not only meets its own demand but also anticipates the growing need for electric vehicle charging across Germany.
DB charging stations are located at office buildings, depots and train stations. DB Energie provides tailored solutions, ensuring that the charging points use electricity from renewable sources whenever technically feasible.
Charging Infrastructure within the Company—Charge@DB
DB Energie and DB Bahnbau Group jointly deliver customized charging infrastructure for DB depots and office bulidings: from planning and underground cable installation to power supply and maintenance, everything is included in the service package.
In addition, under the project name DB Charging Station, Deutsche Bahn participates in the federal program "Publicly Accessible Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Germany" and offers public charging points for cars at selected train stations—powered by electricity from renewable sources. The renewable energy is supplied by DB Energie.
