Deutsche Bahn relies on the combined strength of all business areas and employees in its sustainability management. To drive the company’s ecological transformation, hundreds of environmental experts are deployed every day. They work hand in hand with DB employees and managers, taking on a wide range of roles.

As environmental coordinators in passenger traffic, environmental officers, or project engineers at DB InfraGO, they coordinate the implementation of various environmental measures across the company while ensuring compliance with numerous environmental regulations at DB.

The environmental experts provide nationwide advice directly on-site for all environmental matters. They identify legal and internal corporate requirements, ensuring potential environmental risks are recognized early and, wherever possible, avoided or mitigated.

In addition, the coordinators continuously develop the environmental management system, communicate environmental topics, and establish guidelines at the respective locations. They keep track of various resource consumptions and highlight areas with potential for further savings.
