Like many others too, we at Deutsche Bahn are increasingly using digital media in our internal communications. We are paving the way toward a more sustainable working world. For example, we said goodbye to the print edition of our employee magazine DB World at the end of 2020. By forgoing four printed issues each year, we save around 61 metric tons of paper and more than 1.25 million liters of water annually. That is as much water as around 9,850 people in Germany consume every day.
Of course, no one has to do without information. Because on our Group intranet platform DB Planet we offer fast, interactive and up-to-date information. Many employees now have a mobile device and can therefore access the latest news on DB Planet whenever they wish, wherever they are. Thanks to this platform, we can reach even more readers and at the same time do our bit for the environment.
