We are one of Germany's largest owners of forests, with total holdings of around 28,000 hectares. One of our woodland sites is near the village of Elm in eastern Hesse. Here, a century ago, railway employees planted trees on the embankment flanking the rail line between the towns of Hanau and Fulda.
The wood has not heard the sound of a chainsaw for decades, which means that it is a magical place in which nature is allowed to run its course.
And the wood is not just helping the climate. It is also helping us to collect eco-points that we can use later as part of our environmental restoration activities.
