Deutsche Bahn aims to make its construction logistics as climate-friendly as possible. Wherever feasible, truck trips are avoided to reduce road traffic. Instead, environmentally friendly rail transport is used for moving materials – for example, in the Stuttgart 21 major project. For this purpose, around 4.3 kilometers of temporary construction roads were built to Stuttgart Nordbahnhof to enable fast and more environmentally friendly transport by train.
