Deutsche Bahn train toilets are particularly water-efficient. Thanks to the so-called pressure-flush technology, each flush requires only about 0.75 liters of water. By comparison, a conventional toilet uses between four and nine liters per flush. At some stations, such as the “Green stations” in Kerpen-Horrem and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, rainwater is also collected and used for flushing toilets as well as for cleaning purposes.
