For many years, Deutsche Bahn has been working with local non-profit organizations such as food banks and donating food for a good cause. Whether it’s lentil stew, pasta dishes, or chocolate brownies, many products from onboard catering in long-distance trains are still perfectly safe to eat, even if they are no longer offered to passengers.

At its logistics locations, DB employees check which food items are still suitable for consumption and hand them over to local food banks. DB also regularly donates food from onboard catering to the charity organization Arche.
