Tablets instead of reams of paper

Previously, our train drivers and train attendants had to carry heavy books of service regulations, timetables and circulars around with them. Now the majority of these documents is stored on their tablets – always the current version, of course.

By increasingly taking advantage of digital media, we are relieving both our employees and our environment. This saves us many thousands of tons' worth of paper every year. Train drivers at some of the companies that make up our subsidiary DB Arriva, such as Arriva Rail London and CrossCountry Trains, have also switched completely to paper-free communication.

Staff receive timetables and information regarding train operations on mobile terminals such as tablets.
