In life, smart planning always saves time. And for us, it saves CO2 as well. This is what our employees, or more precisely our dispatchers, are committed to doing. They specify when the trains are to be stabled on which track and in which order when they are not in use, so that they are ready for service again faster and with as little switching as possible at departure time. This saves a great deal of energy.
And we constantly monitor how we can cut our energy needs even further when stabling vehicles, for example by reducing the preheating temperature for some of our diesel locomotives' engines. When ICEs are taking a break, we save energy by turning off the climate control system.
