To ensure Deutsche Bahn trains run reliably for as long as possible, they must be regularly cleaned and maintained. To conserve resources and reduce waste, DB uses refillable spray cans in its depots – including Leipzig, Frankfurt, Munich, Bremen, Stuttgart, and Trier.
When a can is empty, it is refilled at dedicated refill stations. Missing propellant can also be easily replenished. Deutsche Bahn uses compressed air as a natural propellant, avoiding harmful emissions while saving resources. At the Leipzig depot alone, this practice saves around 1,400 spray cans per year.
