Deutsche Bahn’s bus drivers are trained to drive their vehicles as energy-efficiently as possible, helping to conserve valuable resources. Driving with foresight, coasting toward red lights, and switching off the engine during longer stops are just a few examples. Modern telematics systems support employees in becoming even better.

On the path to net zero, DB also relies on innovative and efficiency-boosting measures on the road. For example, all DB Regio Bus drivers receive direct feedback on their driving style on their company cell phone during the trip. The Eco App is in use nationwide and uses different colored smileys to show whether there is still room for improvement or if everything is already running optimally.

The app receives its data from the bus’s telematics system. This system recognizes driving behavior, evaluates it automatically, and provides tips for energy-efficient driving. Thanks to a holder on the dashboard, drivers can keep the Eco App in view at all times – no operation is required while driving.
